Chip,Chip,Chip,Chip’N’Dale! Rescue Rangers
Chip and Dale were a pair of Chipmunks that fought crimes, no matter how big or small. They were helped by a lady mouse and engineer Gadget HackWrench, a burly mouse ( who was addicted to cheese) Monterey Jack and a small bluebottle? called Zipper. The cartoon began life on the Disney Channel, Chip was an action hero type, whereas Dale was more the fun party guy that needed keeping in-line. Their enemies were chiefly Professer Nimnul, FatCat and his stooges (Meps, Snout, Mole and Lizard).
The show was originally going to feature the cast of the Disney Film, ‘The Rescuers’. however these plans were changed when Disney decided to go ahead with the film, ‘The Rescuers Down Under’ and so instead ‘Chip n Dale’ were born. The show was so successful it was nominated for a ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ in 1990.
Also the catchy theme tune was written by the same person (Mark Mueler) that wrote the other popular Disney Cartoon Theme Tune - Duck Tales!
Chip
As you can see from his picture, Chip is very much an India Jones type figure. He generally runs around shouting 'Rescue Rangers Away!', he is fearless, courageous and the de facto leader of the group. Despite his looks he actually has a voice that's higher than Alvin's from Alvin and the Chipmunks!
Dale
Dale as you can tell by the Haiwain shirt is a more relaxed member of the duo. He and Chip are frequently arguing due to the contrast between Chip's serious attitude and Dale's zany free-wheeling antics.
Gadget
Gadget HackWrench is the only lady member of the Rescue Rangers and she is also the brains of the gang. Gadget is always making crazy inventions to help them with their crime-fighting, and she is also just as courageous as Chip! Gadget is also an accomplished pilot, and knows Monterey, as he was a friend of her late father's (GeeGaw HackWrench).
Monterey
Monterey Jack, is first and foremost a lover of cheese! It acts like a drug on him, hypnotising him at crucial moments, but other than this when cheese is not around he is the brawn of the group. A world-traveller, Monty meets Chip and Dale in the first episode of the series and introduces them to Gadget and also his side-kick Zipper the fly. I'm not very good with accents, but I think he's meant to be Australian?!?
FatCat
Alongside Professor Norton Nimnul, FatCat is the arch-enenmy of the Rescue Rangers. When he's not plotting against Dogs (whom he also hates) he is trying to bring down those pesky Rescue Rangers!
FatCat was the pet of a criminal mastermind (Aldrine Clawdane), who got put in prison for his misdeeds. Following this FatCat has decided to branch out on his own and rules the animal criminal underworld!
