Fraggle Rock was a great show created by Jim Henson, featuring Muppet style creatures called the Fraggles. The Fraggles had human characteristics, came in a variety of colours and were all about waist high to a human. Fraggle Rock was a cave system that was inhabited by Fraggles and Doozers, but that also opened into a human world (which the Fraggles call Outer Space) and a non-human world populated by the Gorgs. We often see the Fraggles entering the world of the Gorgs to steal Radishes, whilst we hear of the human world from Gobo’s uncle Matt, who is travelling and sending back letters to his nephew.
At the centre of the Fraggle universe are Radishes! The Fraggles eat them , the Doozers build with them and the Gorgs grow them to create anti-vanishing cream (without which they would become invisible). As a kid Fraggle Rock was great to watch as each episode was full of colour and music ( Dennis Lee and Philip Balsam wrote around two original songs per episode).
The Fraggles!
So the whole series revolves around Fraggle Rock, inside Fraggle Rock there are the Fraggles! The series centres around a handful of Fraggles, within the larger community, some episodes also hint show that there are other communities of Fraggles within Fraggle Rock that we don't get to see. The lead character is Gobbo, he is the nephew of Travelling Uncle Matt, and perhaps because of this likes to go on adventuires to explore the uncharted areas of Fraggle Rock. As per the above he also plays the guitar! The other key fraggles are clockwise Mokey (the hippy one), Boober (he's a bit of a worrier and the chef of Fraggle Rock), Wembley (Gobbo's best friend and works in the fire department) and finally Red (called Regina she is high-spirited, athletic and often vies for leadership of the group with Gobbo)
The Doozers!
Doozers are about half the size of a Fraggle, and whilst Fraggles like to play and dance, Doozers live to work! They have a symbiotic relationship with the Fraggles in the sense that ther Doozers build all of these marvellous structures out of radishes, which seem to have no other purpose than to give the Fraggles something to eat! They encourage the Fraggles to enjoy their architecture - by eating it, as it then clears the way for the Doozers to build some more.

The Gorgs
Out of one of the exits from Fraggle Rock live the Gorgs. The Gorgs do not like Fraggles as they steal all of their radishes. The radishes which the Gorgs grow are an essential ingredient of their anti-vanishing cream!
The Gorgs are approximately six metres tall and seem to live in a universe (or Cave) entirely seperate from the rest of the world. They call themselves the King and Queen of the Universe, but in one episode they admit they have never seen any other Gorg else except their son - pretty sad tale really! The Fraggles brerak into their garden via the well to steal radishes. There are other creatures living in the Gorg world, just not any other Gorgs. In particular they have a telepathic talking trash-heap called Marjory!
The Doctor and Sprocket
Fraggles call humans 'Silly Creatures' and the Earth as we know it 'Outer Space'. Almost all of their knowledge of Outer Space comes from Uncle Matt, who sends postcards back to Gobbo of his strange experiences as he travels the world.
The Doc (an inventor) and his dog (Sprocket) live in a lighthouse on Fraggle Rock. Sprocket knows of the existence of Fraggles, but is unsuccessful in showing his master, until the last but one episode when the Doc sees the Fraggles (and eventually befriends them).
Gobbo's uncle sends his postcards to the lighthouse, and so Gobbo has to crawl through a hole in the skirting board to retrieve these postcards from the trash where the Doc throws them.
